Going off my last post of Gatherings... I came across this story of Friday Night Meatballs. Every Friday night, this family makes a large batch of spaghetti and meatballs. Any guest is welcome of any age (as long as you give them heads up so they prepare enough!).
This family was feeling stressed and disconnected from life. The simple act of opening their home every Friday for a casual dinner changed everything. It didn't matter if the house was clean or the table was set in a special way, they just pressed 'pause' for a few hours to eat and laugh around the dinner table. Although we regularly have last minute bbqs with friends in the neighborhood, I am inspired to pick a simple dish and every Friday night welcoming anyone and everyone to our home to enjoy it with us.
